How to Schedule More Jobs Sooner with Job Stacker

Ensure all your crew's schedules are full each day.

Written by Jen Davies

Summary

Starting with a crew member and a calendar day, Job Stacker looks for other jobs already scheduled in the future and suggests jobs to move to the earlier date so every day can be a full day for your crew.

JobStacker helps streamline job assignment by offering flexible routing options, making it easier to add and modify jobs for your crew members efficiently.

Select the Date and Crew Member

Start by choosing the date you want to add jobs for and the crew member you’d like to assign them to. Job Stacker will consider any existing jobs the crew member already has on that date.

Find Available Jobs

If the crew member has no jobs scheduled for the day, you can create a completely new route. On the right side of the screen, you'll see available jobs to choose from.

You can pull from unscheduled jobs or select scheduled jobs within a specific date range. This allows you to assign jobs not just from the selected day but also from surrounding days (e.g., the 14th and 15th).

Adjust Job Preferences

You have the option to ignore target arrival times for existing jobs, meaning Job Stacker will place new jobs based on minimum drive time. If you want to respect arrival windows defined in your CRM, uncheck this option to add new jobs between the existing job times.

Review the Job Options

After selecting the available jobs, Job Stacker will generate a list of route options. Each option combines existing and newly added jobs.

Jobs that were already assigned will not have a "Remove Job" button, while newly added jobs will. This helps you differentiate between existing and newly scheduled jobs.

Map View

You can view the proposed route on a map. Existing jobs are shown with blue dots, while newly added jobs are marked with yellow. The map will display the route, starting from the first job, progressing through the new jobs, and ending back at the base location.

Verify with Customers

Review the route options and confirm with the customer if the proposed date and time work for them. Phone numbers are provided when available, so you can easily reach out to the customer.

If a customer cannot accommodate the proposed time, click "Remove Job" to remove that job from the route. JobStacker will update the route accordingly, keeping the original jobs in place and adjusting the remaining ones.

Final Confirmation

After reviewing the options and confirming with the customers, you can confirm the route. You also have the option to notify customers, similar to HouseCall.

Once you click "Confirm," you’ll be asked to confirm again. After confirming, the updates will be reflected in your CRM.
